I've had my Land Rover for many a year
And I've spent all my money on gadgets and gear
But now it's got tin-worm, there's holes in the floor
And I never will drive my Land Rover no more
And it's no, nay, never. no nay never no more
Will I drive my Land Rover, no never, no more
I went to a garage I used to frequent
And I told the mechanic my chassis was bent
I asked him to mend it, he answered me 'nay'
I've seen better than yours go for scrap every day
I pulled from my pocket ten sovereigns bright
The mechanic said ten quid won't buy you one light
He said I've a car here, it's just passed its test
It's got alloys, black glass, fluffy dice and the rest
I drove home to my parents, confessed what I'd done
My dad said 'You muppet, that's two cars not one'
There's bad bits of welding all over the floor
And the bumper fell off it when he slammed the door
